SCIENTIFIC WORK
Variable-diameter diffuser – enhanced wind turbine efficiency
Developed by members of the Eko-Energia Student Club, the diffuser enables mechanical adjustment of the outlet diameter, allowing active control of airflow. This innovation allows the turbine to operate across a wider range of wind speeds, achieving up to 30–60% higher efficiency compared to standard solutions.
The design uses a system of movable guide vanes and a control ring, with the entire mechanism housed within a compact diffuser frame.
Our projects are not only a demonstration of innovative engineering but also the subject of scientific research. Members of the Club present the results of their work at national and international conferences and prepare articles for peer-reviewed scientific journals. We share knowledge to support the development of sustainable technologies and to promote practice-based science.
